Autistic Children in China Receive Care and Therapy in Jesus' Name
In one province of China more than two million live with disabilities, and a startling 15,000 are discovered to have autism each year. Unfortunately, autism rehabilitation is a new field in China, and many go without the critical care they need.
SIS has joined forces with Christian medical professionals, training Chinese healthcare workers to provide early diagnosis and intensive therapy for autistic children. Christian medical professionals also help the children's families connect with counselors and support groups, establishing a network of care and encouragement.
The program is designed to train five local medical staff at a time. Once trained, they will provide therapy and support for at least five autistic children and their families.
Training for five healthcare workers: $2,530
Total need (including equipment, print resources, training, etc.): $14,030
