Giving Opportunities
Iraqi Women Receive Spiritual Training and Learn Job Skills
Many Iraqi women are virtually imprisoned due to social constraints that restrict them from free interaction. They are often isolated and suffer physical and emotional abuse. Tragically, honor killings are common for women and girls who breach social barriers.
With your assistance, SIS is helping to create centers dedicated to the needs of Iraqi women, providing them with life-changing opportunities. One such project has already been successfully implemented, and Iraqi men willingly release their wives to visit the center. In this way, women are receiving education, job skills and healthcare. At the second women's center, over 200 women each year will be able to attend, taking critical steps toward dignity, development and freedom. In addition, pre-school programs will impact more than 250 children.
